The Big Reveal
I am absolutely thrilled with the work and if you are in the Saint Louis area I highly recommend Cobblestone for all of your Louboutin needs. They also excel in other areas as well. A few years ago I took in a pair of Donald Pliner boots to have them resoled and the work was equally stunning.

Dropping Some Knowledge
Red Protective Soles for Christian Louboutin® Shoes
Do you love your Christian Louboutin® shoes so much you hate to wear them for fear of wearing the red finish off of the bottoms? The third generation craftsmen at Cobblestone Shoe Repair have a solution for you. |
There was a red protective sole on the market, but the color didn't quite match the Louboutin bottoms (see the strip in the photo above). That won't do for our high fashion customers who wear the shoes.
So we worked with Soletech, Inc. to develop red sole protectors to match Christian Louboutin® shoes. This thin, rubber, non-slip sole saver will keep those red soles looking red while providing more comfort and fashion. They can be applied to new or slightly worn shoes.
Sole protectors also come in black, brown, tan, white and nicotine colors, so any thin-soled shoe can be worn with confidence. Sole protectors prevent excessive toe wear while adding durability and comfort.
If you have questions about sole protectors, contact info@cobblestoneshoerepair.com or bring your shoes to the Cobblestone location nearest you.
I'll be sure to take pictures tomorrow night after I pick them up so you can see how they look.
And in case you were wondering...
Dany came on Monday and OMG this shoe is seriously the sickest, most over the top, most fierce shoe I own. I am a 6.5 and ordered a 7. I figured it's easier to wear a shoe that is slightly too big then trying to squeeze my foot into a shoe that is too tight. I definitely recommend ordering a half size up. A foot petal will solve any heel slippage you might have. Also they are surprisingly easy to walk in.
Now I just checked jessicasimpsoncollection.com and sadly they are sold out of almost all sizes in the cognac but they have all but one size still left in black. I have a contact at shoes.com and she said they are getting the Dany's in, in August. I'll be sure to give you the scoop once they get them in too.
Happy shopping everyone!

Put A Twinkle in Your Step
I'm so sorry for the lack of "Walking a Mile in My Shoes" posts as of late. I've been carrying my camera in my purse but haven't been taking pictures of my shoes (obviously). I promise to work it in to my schedule during the week:)
I'm also sorry for the sporadic posting. I just joined a gym and I'm trying to figure out how to juggle a full time job, exercising, and blogging along with being a good wife and mom to all four of my fur children. It may take me a few weeks to figure out a good system but I'll get there.
Also I know I may be beating a dead horse BUT I was driving by a bar on my way home from the gym and running errands on Saturday and I saw two girls walking towards said bar in cute sundresses and FLIP FLOPS!!!!!!! I swear I'm gonna start carrying a size run of sundress appropriate shoes and just start throwing them at people. Once I find out what size they wear, of course.

Does This Bother Anyone Else?
Don't be fooled. I know these are shiny. Still. No.
Now I took the liberty of browsing the selections at payless.com in case the reasoning behind this horrible debacle of a trend is cost. Spend a few more dollars on an actual shoe and I promise you won't regret it.

I've featured these before. For good reason. They are a great CHIC and CHEAP alternative to "you know what".

Rowdy Cosmos
Wednesday night I spent the evening with these four ladies and their shenanigans. I know I'm probably a little late in the game but I'm gonna give you all my take anyway :) Despite the fact that the critics seem to hate this film I must wholeheartedly disagree. I LOVED it. The fashion was 100x more spectacular than the first and that eye candy alone had my head spinning. While the first film was wrapped up in drama and heartache and the ultimate happy ending this one was pure unadulterated fun! Take it for what it is and I guarantee you will love it as much as I did. The theatre was surprisingly packed for a Wednesday night and that crowd was rowdy with a capital R. Lots of boisterous laughter and shouting at the screen and I wouldn't have had it any other way.
Anyhoo I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I promise to be back next week with more regular posting AND some more Walking A Mile in My Shoes posts.

A Dream Is Realized
Memorial Day weekend 2010 I spent a wonderful weekend in Chi-town with two dear friends from college. Saturday after spending an amazing two hours at the Matisse exhibit (which was absolutely stunning, by the way) we ventured down Michigan Avenue and ended up at Nordstrom. After perusing the racks of sale merchandise only to be sorely disappointed that everything that caught my eye was either a 1/2 size too small or a 1/2 size too big I glanced over to my right and spied THE table of all tables. "Hark, are those red soles, I spy?" Now I don't know about you all but we (in the STL) are apparently not worthy enough to have a Louboutin section in the shoe department at our local Nordies. Naturally I had to walk over to said table. Just to look. And pet. After a minute or two of heavy petting I thought, "What's the harm in trying on a pair or 3?" And I did. And it was glorious. And wouldn't you know it... a pair came home with me. I took the liberty of documenting the occasion for you all and for the sake of prosperity.
The shoe pile. I will say there is nothing like standing and looking behind you in the mirror and getting a peek of that red sole. Instantaneous shoe high.
