Better Dead Than Red

Isn't that what they say? Personally, I don't know who this "they" is but "they" can shove it.

Boutique 9 - Commons

Now I'll be the first to admit. There is a lot going on here. From the color (bold fire engine red), to the gold hardware (check out that heel), to the lace up front... but I like it. A statement shoe if ever there was one. Who doesn't love a little "notice me" look?

Cagey

Boutique 9 - Javan

Step into this strappy, sexy, platform sandal by Boutique 9 and you'll have all the heads turning. Bold, geometric cut-outs up the ante on this flirty and stylish shoe. What say you? Are you planning on getting cagey this season?

Yay or Nay Thursday

I've been noticing this style for quite some time now as I'm sure you have and I have to say, I'm on the fence. They are, quite literally, everywhere. Nine West has a line and Steve Madden too. I've seen Meagan from ...love Maegan wear them (and look adorable) and some of the most stylish women in fashion have been seen sporting this look as well

Despite my reservations towards this particular trend I know that there are many of you out there digging it so I thought I'd feature a couple pairs that I like.

Boutique 9 - Ronnie

Personally when it comes this trend a little dash of femininity is key. The crackled shimmering metallic hue adds just the right dose here.

Moschino Cheap & Chic - Henry

Once again we have a sweet feminine touch. This time in the form of the thick ribbon lace up closure all tied up into a pretty bow.

So ladies what say you? Will you be sporting the oxford look? Yay or Nay?

Taupe With A Twist

Boutique 9 - Udell

I simply adore the simplicity found in this pretty little peep toe by Boutique 9. The contrasting woven platform and heel give these just the tiniest bit of oomph but it doesn't interrupt the classic lines. Don't you love that? The pleated suede and knot decoration at the vamp amps up their sex appeal but not overtly so. This pump is sure to remain a true classic in every sense. Pretty. Sexy. Perfect.

Birds Of A Feather

I was intrigued by the similarities in these. Personally, I'm partial to the pink pair. Which do you prefer?

This sandal with its brightly bold sunflower hue will instantly make you the center of attention. I love the contrast between the leather upper and the rope trim and the wood heel and platform. I love the fresh take on styling here. It just screams summer to me.

Boutique 9 Itala

I simply adore this platform by Boutique 9. The color is fabulous. Boutique 9 calls it violet but I love it for its pinky purple hue that seems to have a sort of streaking effect. Once again we have a shoe style that features a contrasting midsole, this one is wrapped in raffia, and a wooden platform and heel. These may very well make their way into my closet. I love them!

Count Down to Saint Pat's

I don't even think you can begin to understand how EXCITED I am for Saint Patrick's Day. What better way to celebrate than with shoes in colors of the Irish flag. Well I can think of a better way. It may start with traditional Irish music, cheese and onion tart, chocolate chip scones, Baileys and coffee, and then might be followed by Guinness, a parade in Dogtown, more Guinness, with the strong possibility of ending with corned beef in some way, shape or form. That's what my day of drunken debauchery looks like. If you aren't so lucky then the next best thing is shoes. With free overnight shipping from Piperlime. Your feet can be surrounded by the luck o' the Irish in no time.

Emma Pink, Laria

I absolutely adore this wedge. The kelly green polka dot upper, the criss cross straps, the peep toe, and the buckled ankle strap. Sweetly feminine, these would even be good for a day of standing, drinking, and parade watching in comfort AND style.

I am a big fan of Boutique 9 especially after purchasing these this past fall. The quality of materials is really wonderful for the price. This structural sandal has a lot of really fab elements. From the uniquely shaped partially covered wood heel to the snake embossed nubuck leather and the delightful woven details at the vamp.

Vince Camuto, Basso

So simple and chic. This hot little gladiator sandal by Vince Camuto features some fun details. The stud accent, the sleek and shiny patent leather, and the metallic capped toe. This shoe is sure to be your go to for the season and will add the perfect pop of color to your spring neutrals.

Stepping Outside of My Shoe Box

With so many style mavens out there cataloging their day-to-day wear it's difficult to read their blogs and not feel inspired. Ugh if I had half that fashion chutzpah when I was their age... These girls are fierce and they are mere teenagers. Well this thirty something says "Hat's off" and thank you. Thank you to Fashion Toast and Sea of Shoes for not being afraid to get out there and for not giving a shit. I could never pull off what they wear and I would never want to copy someone's style. But what I can do is garner inspiration and if I'm going to garner inspiration anywhere it's going to be with shoes.

So here I am. Stepping waaaaaaaaay outside of "my shoe box". Now, let me tell you what's going to happen. In the next few days I will be posting a selection of shoes I am considering to help me in my endeavor. You can love them or hate them but guess what? No matter what your opinion I'm going to put it all out there and just not give a shit. Please don't take that last comment the wrong way ; ) I'm stepping outside of my box people. This is what happens.

Introducing - choice #1. The more and more I've looked at these, the more and more I've grown to love them. These hit just about every hot trend for the season. The lace up, the bootie like shape. But I must say I find them oddly appealing. I think my husband will absolutely hate them. No matter. He's going to hate all of the shoes I will be posting over the next few days. The leather on these looks so sumptuous and soft and I can just imagine my brightly painted and pedicured toes peeking out of these once the weather turns warm.

Mission Impossible

Ho hum...

I'm on a mission but I need help. I am looking for the perfect pair of knee length Gray Boots. I have a few criteria so please bear with me. They must be pull on. I was a dancer. I have muscular calves. Zippers will not work for me. They must have a heel between 2-4 inches high. They must be leather or suede. I would prefer that they have a leather sole but if they were absolutely perfect otherwise I would be okay without it. I would also prefer that they cost no more than $300. $350 is my absolute max. Below are my options so far.

Steve Madden Tribune

Boutique 9 Galen

Frye Ava Tall Boot

Ladies, your mission, should you choose to accept it is to infiltrate the inner workings of my mind and help me decide which boot belongs in my wardrobe. Feel free to click on the links to check each one out in more detail. I'm not completely sold on any of these so I really would appreciate your input. If you don't like any of them and know of something better, PLEASE email me the link/picture. The perfect boot is out there. I just know it.

A quick note on the Frye boot. It is out of my price range but I managed to find a shoes.com coupon code for 15% off which would bring them to $340. Oh and these exact boots are $500 on three other shoe websites. Crazy huh?

Help! Which boot should I choose?
The Steve Madden, they're like buttuh.
The suede Boutique 9, that adjustable buckle is too cute.
The Frye Boot, those bad boys are hot!

I've Been A VERY Bad Girl!

Guess what the UPS man dropped off today???? Don't judge me. I did it. I bought an item off of "The List". I couldn't help myself. I kept checking all of the shoe websites that sold them and they were all very quickly selling out of my size, if not already sold out. I couldn't let these perfect little gems slip away. I simply couldn't. So here it is. Here is the item from the list that is now "MINE ALLLLL MINE!!!" And yes you may picture me tapping my fingers together in a very Mr. Burns like manner.

The List

So each season (I'm talking fashion season) I create "the list". The list typically consists of my must have items for the Spring or Fall. I scour the fashion magazines and look for the trends then try to figure out how I might incorporate them into my wardrobe. The incorporation typically takes place in the form of accessories (read shoes) but I have been know to pick up the occasional belt, scarf etc... In doing research for this blog I have been visiting many websites daily. This has inevitably led me to spotting items for my Fall 2008 list. I have had shoe tunnel vision as of late and below you will find a couple of my must haves. I will continue to update "the list" as I spot more finds.

That's the start of my list.

What's on yours????
