Balletic

Aside from inciting terror, it appears that Black Swan is inspiring some hot fashion trends.

From the high bun, to whisper soft fabrics, delicious sheers, ballet flats and more including these little beauties by Nine West.

Trilla - Nine West

Hit two trends at once in this sexy platform by Nine West. You've got a satin like knotted fabric at the instep (ballet) in the color of the moment (nude). These are definitely going on the list. My must have list, that is. Will they be on yours?

FN Shoe Star

The wonderful social network that is Facebook alerted me to a new season of a fun web series called FN (stands for Footwear News) Shoe Star. Since I have a blog and it is about shoes I thought I would share my find with you. FN Shoe star is sponsored by Brown Shoe and, if you haven't guessed it already, is a webseries that pits 6 FIT students against one another in the search to find the next big shoe designer. Episode 1 aired just this week and is only eleven minutes long. Go check it out and follow along. I know I'll be watching!

Just click on the picture below to take yourself to the site.

Fergie kicked off the premier. Fun, huh?

Barbie Shoes

Badgley Mischka - Dusk

I'm not sure why but the instant I saw these on (More on that later) I immediately thought of Barbie. Don't these just seem like the quintessential Barbie shoe? You know she would have been rocking these. Thanks to Badgley Mischka instead of Barbie rocking these little beauties, you get to. The soft wisp of tulle, the appeal of a go to nude. Something tells me Dusk is going to be a big hit with those girlie girls amongst us.

And now a little peak at what they look like on...

Am I right, or am I right?

What Do I Spy?

DVF inspires a DIY. I was trolling around shopbop.com the other day perusing the new shoes that are trickling in for Spring 2011 when I came across these.

Diane Von Furstenberg - Eva

The Eva scarf tie platform sandal will set you back a whopping $275 but why blow almost $300 when all it takes to transform a pair of shoes you already own is a length of satin ribbon. And I've got just the pair I'm going to DIY. Now all I've got to do is find the matching ribbon. To the fabric store I go.

I'm Not Really A Wedge Girl

I've honestly tried to be... HOWEVER... These just might make me change my mind.

Dolce Vita - Persius

So simple yet so gorgeous. Bold, look at me red. Perfect shape. Towering heel height. Not to mention these are bound to garner you a few cat calls along the way. Ain't nothin wrong with that.

This Year I Resolve...

to buy more shoes! (To be honest I should probably resolve to buy less shoes but that is neither here nor there) Happy 2011 dear, dear readers. It's been awhile. Do you like the new look? First up this week I thought I'd feature this spicy little number by Steve Madden.

Steve Madden - Mercyy

The Mercyy pump is very reminiscent of this Elizabeth and James heel featured on the blog waaay back in August. Same metallic sheen, recessed platform, and conical heel but with a lot less hefty price tag. I'm still on a mission for the perfect gray pump and while these are technically pewter I think I could make it work. Tell me... what did you resolve to do this year?
