Practical? or Whimsical?

Alright I'm not sure if you remember yesterday when I mentioned that my husband owes me 2 pairs of shoes. I helped him out with some school stuff and of course my bargaining tool is always shoes. Now comes the time when I confess that I actually did end up buying the Slinger by N.Y.L.A. on Wednesday night - the Prada knock off I featured in yesterday's post. Which, of course, brings me down to 1. And I need your help to decide. First up is practical.

Steven by Steve Madden - Blend

Ah yes, now wouldn't this nude mini wedge be the ultimate in practicality? They would be so easy to throw on for a day of power shopping or even a day at the office. I love that these aren't technically a flat but as far as I'm concerned they are just flat enough. The color is perfectly nude and I could definitely see these as my go to shoe come spring. Plus after contemplating my shoe collection I could stand to incorporate more basics. Here is the video so you can see what these look like on.

Next up is whimsical.

Now I'll be honest and say that I wasn't sold on these based on the picture but then I clicked on the video link and was done in. This sweet yet sexy heel defines the word "whimsy". I love the artsy spring print and satiny look of that fabric upper but these are definitely the opposite of the word practical. Ultimately I wonder how much wear I would get out of them but then on the other hand when you did wear them what a statement you would make. See below for the video that "sold" me.

And that leaves us with my dilemma, which I need your help with. Help a girl out. For my final pair of husband owed shoes what should I do? Leave a comment or vote in the poll below.

Nude Flats

I have spoken often of the wonders of a good pair of nude heels. How they can do nothing but good. They elongate the leg, pair perfectly with anything and everything, etc... Well as I've been searching and exploring the internet to find shoes I want to feature on the blog I came across a few pairs of fabulously nude flats. *Sigh* Yet another pair of shoes to add to the never ending list. Now while the nude flat won't add any additional height(obviously) I consider them a great alternative to the nude heel. Especially on those days when you have lots of errands to run and comfort is key.

Flats can certainly have a tendency to look a little on the boring side but this pair by Sam Edelman is anything but. The cut out details add great visual interest and I love, love, love the toe capped with a bit of snake skin.

Jeffrey Campbell Haley Flat

A studded bow? How perfect! This flat is a great way to combine your girly side with your sassy side. These look as if they are the ultimate in comfort. That supple, flexible leather encasing your toes... pure perfection.

Steven by Steve Madden Stardom Flat

This pair by Steve Madden is my favorite of the bunch. Naturally it's the most expensive of the three. Isn't that always the way? But this, this is a glam flat. I love the shape. The almond toe and the shimmering tiled studs really appeal to me. Adore.

Come Spring, these would look fabulous paired with shorts like these Nanette Lepore shorts I found on Shopbop.

or this flirty dress I found at Forever 21.

Feminine Details

There are lots of feminine finds to be had this season. From bows, to flowers, to ruffles if it's dainty then you're in luck.

First and foremost after perusing the January issue of Bazaar the word in shoes was ruffles. I noticed lots of these sweet little details as I've been browsing the latest offerings on my favorite shoe sites. I am most definitely a girly girl and I couldn't be happier to see this sweet little detail being added to shoes. Bows have been ruling the roost for some time now and I am pleased as punch now that ruffles are finally having their day in the sun. What do you think? Are you loving this trend as much as I am?

Here are my top picks below.

Aw man, these are my absolute favorite! The coral color is so gorgeous but if that doesn't tickle your fancy these also come in black leather and a taupe suede. To me, however, the coral is where it's at. The ruffled leather adorning the t-strap is tres chic. This is most certainly a shoe that is going on "The List".

Ugh, as if the ruffled strap didn't already make these girly then you add the sweet little bow into the mix. Not to mention the fact that the ruffle is comprised of grosgrain ribbon. I love the Caribbean hue but this fun little wedge also comes in malt(read brown), and pink as well.

Demy, Steven by Steve Madden

Yet another offering brought to you from Steven by Steve Madden. I've had my eye on these for a while now. The ruffles in not one, not two, but THREE tiers. That fabulous pewter color. The peep toe. Ultra feminine, ultra flirty, and immensely playful. Adorable!

Bedazzled! (Numero tres)

Rhinestone embellished ankles? Yes, please. I am dying to see these in person. I am hoping they will be at the Steve Madden store here in the ol' STL so I can try them on. I love the cut out cuff adorned with pretty sparkling jewels. This shoe will make a statement. This shoe needs me.

This is another shoe that I would love to see in the flesh and try on. The Dunbarton is all about flash and sass. This one is certainly gonna get you noticed. Thick straps. Giant jewels. A sexy platform and 4 3/4 inch heel. Hot, hot, hot!
