Tim Gunn's Guide to Style & Sofft Shoes (a.k.a "wide shoes")

Well thanks to Google and Sitemeter I recently discovered that there are a number of you out there who are searching for the "wide shoes" featured on last week's episode. Back in July I blogged about Sofft shoes as being both comfortable AND stylish. I was incredibly excited when I saw them featured on TGGTS which managed to make me cry for the second week in a row. See below for a few of the latest looks from Sofft's Fall 2008 collection. All of which are available in wide. Don't see anything you like below? Check out the rest of the Fall collection here.

Gorgeous suede in a berry blue hue. A pretty patent bow adorned with chrome accents tops your toes all with the comfort of a 3 1/4" (that's right I said comfort) stacked heel.

Magnolia

These are so sweet. From the piping to the button detail across the vamp. A wonderfully neutral hue sure to please even the most discerning of shoppers.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. The suede, the patent leather piping, the peep toe... That beautiful cranberry hue is so on trend. Frankly, I'm smitten.

Buy Designer and Payless

More and more designers these days are teaming up with retail giants to put out affordable fashion for the masses. You have Isaac Mizrahi for Target, Vera Wang for Kohl's, AND Lela Rose, and Abaete for Payless. I know many budgets are tight these days and I am loving these designer lines for Payless. All of the haute little details will have everyone wondering where you got those amazing kicks. If you want to get a leg up on the hot trends this season with out breaking the bank check out these fabulous finds below.

Trend - Bows

Brightly bowed wool pump that will kick your wardrobe into high gear.

Finch Pump, Lela Rose for Payless

Sure to amp up that LBD. Ugh, that bow detail on the heel is to die for.

Lela Rose for Payless Sanborn Bow Flat

A luxurious satin upper topped with a perfect bow and d'orsay styling on the side. Comfortable and affordable, simply perfect.

Trend - Slouchy Boots

Studded boot, Abaete for Payless

Studded, slouched and fabulous, not to mention a great buy, what more could a girl want?

Trend - Hardware

Nell Pleated Peep Toe, Abaete for Payless

I love the contrast here of the girly pleated crepe upper and peep toe and the striking silver studs.

Stud Pump, Abaete for Payless

A pleated crepe and faux leather upper meet cheeky hardware and a 4 inch stiletto heel.

Trend - Bootie

Abaete for Payless pleated bootie

I can hardly believe these are from Payless. The pleated details and gray color really up the style quotient.

Trend - 60's Mad Men

Lela Rose for Payless Fullerton Pump

A rounded toe, a tortoise shell embellishment, and 3.5 inch heel... so chic.

Mary had a little L.A.M.B.

Ah, Gwen Stefani. I have followed you ever since your days as the lead singer of No Doubt. Aren't we due for a No Doubt album soon? (Do people even call them albums any more?) Did I hear a rumor about that or is she planning on staying solo forever? Am I crazy? Okay it's official. Google has confirmed that I am, indeed, not crazy. Apparently we can anticipate a new album in early 2009. However, I digress. Sorry.

Anyhoo, not only is Gwen amazingly talented on stage and a style icon off stage I am L-O-V-E, loving her Fall 08 shoe collection. I want all of these shoes I'm going to be featuring below and now, with the deal I just struck with my husband, I may just be on my way to to purchasing a pair or two.

Mine! Oh these... these are my absolute favorites. A basic black pump that's not really a basic. They are so perfect, in my humble opinion. A classic that will truly take you from season to season. A double platform, that rounded toe and the heel... I'm lusting after these shoes people.

Camden Scallop Open Toe Bootie

I know these aren't for everybody but I happen to love them. And I love them because of the scalloped leather detail. Seriously stunning.

YoYo Sandal

Some more fringe I can get on board with but this time it comes in metal. The ombre shaded chains down the middle strap are fabulous. I love that sexy little detail. H-o-t!

Rosebury Boot

These aren't your granny's booties. Well unless your granny is super stylish and accustom to walking around on 4 1/2 inch heels. Then these are for her. I am digging the cap toe and button detail, so adorable.

Miyagi Heel

Love them. You know how I mentioned I may be able to pick up a pair or two. Well this just may be my #2. I love the purple snake skin, the criss cross straps, and the stripe details. Yum!

Nayuta Zipper Sandal

Yesterday, the ladies at ShoeBlog talked about zipper details and how they are quickly becoming a hot little trend. I don't think the gladiator look is going away anytime soon either and you are hitting both marks here. These would be fabulous paired with tights for the fall and after viewing some of the runway looks for Spring 09 you could happily and fearlessly wear these all year long.

Mitaka Pump

Guaranteed to be another classic in your wardrobe. It's a neutral pump that will take you everywhere from work to weekend and everything in between.

Riding Boots

The Lucky shoe guide concludes with riding boots. Classic and comfortable I'm not sure the riding boot ever goes out of style. See below for a few of my faves.

Platinum

Prada Logo Riding Boot

That supple leather looks like it would caress your calf so delicately and the ankle buckle detail and iconic Prada logo all but scream luxury.

Gold

Via Spiga Riding Boot

Argh! It's the chain heel detail that really gets me here. It lends such an edgy vibe. Wouldn't these be just perfect with a pretty winter floral dress?

June Riding Boot by Franco Sarto

Mmmm... chocolate.... a gorgeous color, this looks like a GREAT boot for the price. The top buckle detail is so perfect and the sheen of the leather makes these look much more expensive than they really are.

Nordstrom is torturing me, slowly... seriously I'm dying over here!

I received an email from Nordstrom highlighting the latest selections from the Salon shoe department and I came across these,

and these,

and these.

Now I know the first two are completely impractical, ugh but I want, I want, I want!!! Ha, ha so didn't mean to sound like a spoiled child. And the Mary Jane, well, my love affair with the elastic strap continues. Argh! What's a girl to do?

Stacked-Heel Loafers

The loafer. This classic, tailored style gets a kick in the pants with a stacked heel and a fresh update that will carry you happily into fall and beyond. Pair these with a pretty pleated skirt and perhaps a fall floral top. Preppy meets girly. Simply perfect!

Platinum

Ugh! Don't these just scream luxury to you. I bring you
a seriously gorgeous pump by Tod's
.

Gold

So perhaps this pump by Cole Haan is not exactly a loafer but it is certainly loafer inspired. I'm really loving the tortoise shell patent leather. Utterly timeless.

A great addtition to any girl's wardrobe.
Nine West updates the classic loafer with a 4" heel and a bold hue.

Patent Flats

If you are an avid reader of this blog you know that I do not often feature flats. I don't hate flats. I just don't really wear them. I'm not tall in real life but if you were to just meet me and then occasionally run into me you would think I gravitated between 5'5"/5'6". I am always in heels. Well unless I'm exercising or walking long distances. I own exactly one pair of flats and I do love them. They are a pretty little snake print Anne Klein pair and I can wear them with just about anything. The editors at Lucky(yes I'm still featuring shoes from their shoe guide) want to guide you towards patent flats. So..... Here. They. Are.

Platinum

Oh these are so sweet and pretty. Girly, shiny, and adorned
with a perfectly coordinated grosgrain bow.
What more could you want from a pair of flats?

I love when leopard print comes in an unexpected color like this
steely gray pair of flats from J. Crew
, don't you?

I love, love, love the zippered trim detail on
this pair of black patent flats by Mossimo for Target.
It's so unexpected and of the moment.

High Heeled Mary Janes

Ah, the mary jane. It's a classic shape and simply irresistible. These sweetly buckled shoes will ALWAYS be in style. So go on! Get yourself a pair, or three.

Platinum

Manolo has done it again. Pair these with anything and
you will instantly up the ante on your wardrobe.
Come to mama...

Gold

I really like these mary janes by Report.
The extra wide strap across the instep gives
them a funky don't mess with me vibe.
But that cool gray color and pretty patent leather
says "I'm bound to be a wardrobe staple" all the way.

ATM

I'd like my mary jane with a twist, please.

Preppy plaid, sexy peep toe,
and a sky high heel. Mmmm...delicious.

Oh I can't wait for fall!

I had a great weekend. Didn't really do anything adventurous but just enjoyed the time spent with my husband & his newfound zest for life. Spent the weekend browsing through all of the HUGE September issues of Lucky, Vogue, In Style, and Elle. Put together a little inspiration collage to hang inside the door of my closet. Snipped little details from the pages of color combos, shoe styles, pairings etc... I'm hoping this will help me incorporate all of the key fall trends into my wardrobe.

One of my favorite key guides is "THE LUCKY fall shoe guide." Ugh, it's so fabulous. So many gorgeous shoes at so many different price points. There is truly something for everyone. So I thought throughout the week I would pick my faves, try to find similar styles on-line and bring them to you.

Today I bring you - The Colored Suede Pump.
