The Big Reveal

Ahem. May I have your attention please. I wrote yesterday's post on Tuesday night so when I said tomorrow, I actually meant yesterday. As in Wednesday. Confused yet? Anyhoo I picked up my Loubies on Wednesday and I couldn't be happier. I also talked to my colleague and dear friend Lizzy on Wednesday and asked her to make sure I don't forget to take pictures of my feet on a regular basis. Because despite my promise to try and remember to take daily shoe pics I haven't taken a single one yet this week. I'm afraid a picture (of my feet/shoes) is going to have to wait until Friday, which in turn means I won't have a Walking A Mile In My Shoes post until Monday. But it's coming. I promise :)

And now without further ado... the BIG reveal

I am absolutely thrilled with the work and if you are in the Saint Louis area I highly recommend Cobblestone for all of your Louboutin needs. They also excel in other areas as well. A few years ago I took in a pair of Donald Pliner boots to have them resoled and the work was equally stunning.

TTYL my lovelies...

Dropping Some Knowledge

Tomorrow I pick up my Loubies from the shoe repair place. I decided to have protective soles put on them. I am inherently tough on shoes. I've gotten a lot better. Especially since I've taken to wearing my flip flops from the car to the office (This is the only time wearing flip flops with a dress or work appropriate outfit is okay. A transition shoe, if you will) and then I switch into my "real" shoes once inside. Here is a bit more information on the sole process.

Red Protective Soles for Christian Louboutin® Shoes

Christian Louboutin shoes and soles

Do you love your Christian Louboutin® shoes so much you hate to wear them for fear of wearing the red finish off of the bottoms? The third generation craftsmen at Cobblestone Shoe Repair have a solution for you.

There was a red protective sole on the market, but the color didn't quite match the Louboutin bottoms (see the strip in the photo above). That won't do for our high fashion customers who wear the shoes.

So we worked with Soletech, Inc. to develop red sole protectors to match Christian Louboutin® shoes. This thin, rubber, non-slip sole saver will keep those red soles looking red while providing more comfort and fashion. They can be applied to new or slightly worn shoes.

Sole protectors also come in black, brown, tan, white and nicotine colors, so any thin-soled shoe can be worn with confidence. Sole protectors prevent excessive toe wear while adding durability and comfort.

If you have questions about sole protectors, contact info@cobblestoneshoerepair.com or bring your shoes to the Cobblestone location nearest you.

I'll be sure to take pictures tomorrow night after I pick them up so you can see how they look.

And in case you were wondering...

Dany came on Monday and OMG this shoe is seriously the sickest, most over the top, most fierce shoe I own. I am a 6.5 and ordered a 7. I figured it's easier to wear a shoe that is slightly too big then trying to squeeze my foot into a shoe that is too tight. I definitely recommend ordering a half size up. A foot petal will solve any heel slippage you might have. Also they are surprisingly easy to walk in.

Now I just checked jessicasimpsoncollection.com and sadly they are sold out of almost all sizes in the cognac but they have all but one size still left in black. I have a contact at shoes.com and she said they are getting the Dany's in, in August. I'll be sure to give you the scoop once they get them in too.

Happy shopping everyone!

Put A Twinkle in Your Step

A few things before I talk about this shoe.

I'm so sorry for the lack of "Walking a Mile in My Shoes" posts as of late. I've been carrying my camera in my purse but haven't been taking pictures of my shoes (obviously). I promise to work it in to my schedule during the week:)

I'm also sorry for the sporadic posting. I just joined a gym and I'm trying to figure out how to juggle a full time job, exercising, and blogging along with being a good wife and mom to all four of my fur children. It may take me a few weeks to figure out a good system but I'll get there.

Also I know I may be beating a dead horse BUT I was driving by a bar on my way home from the gym and running errands on Saturday and I saw two girls walking towards said bar in cute sundresses and FLIP FLOPS!!!!!!! I swear I'm gonna start carrying a size run of sundress appropriate shoes and just start throwing them at people. Once I find out what size they wear, of course.

BCBGirls - Twinkle Sandal

My head is all over the place right now. I absolutely adore this Twinkle sandal by BCBGirls. It's strappy, it's sexy, and the ankle chain is the perfect cherry on top of an already delicious sundae. These also come in gray . Gorgeous.

A Follow Up to The Rant

Here are some more cheap chic alternatives to yesterday's post. Let's go over this again just in case I wasn't clear.

Unacceptable

Does This Bother Anyone Else?

Flip flops. Now don't get me wrong. Flip flops don't bother me. But what does bother me is the fact that the flip flop has become an acceptable form of footwear to pair with a dress. Like for going out. Or church. Or a party. Ummm, no! This has been driving me crazy for quite some time and I would really like to know if I'm alone or perhaps... not alone... In order to solve this problem I am planning to show some chic alternatives to the cursed flip flop. There is a time and a place people! But flip flops do not dress up an outfit. Ever. (Before continuing please let me say I am talking specifically about the type of flip flop that is made out of that weird sort of foam rubber material. The kind that you can find at Old Navy for $3 and quite frankly no amount of bling added to said flip flop makes these okay to wear for a dressy occasion.)

First here are a couple examples of what is NOT acceptable.

Don't be fooled. I know these are shiny. Still. No.

Now I took the liberty of browsing the selections at payless.com in case the reasoning behind this horrible debacle of a trend is cost. Spend a few more dollars on an actual shoe and I promise you won't regret it.

Rock Star Jelly Stone Sandal

Pretty, right? Do you see the difference?

Mork mirrored sling

I've featured these before. For good reason. They are a great CHIC and CHEAP alternative to "you know what".

Steve Madden - Caryssa

The Caryssa pump has been catching my eye for a while now. First in blush and now this hot snake embossed leather. The contrasting gold platform really amps up the sex appeal and this is a classic shape that manages to also be on trend. I love when you can find a shoe with that combo. Now throw on your LWD and these bad boys and get ready for a night out on the town.

Rowdy Cosmos

Wednesday night I spent the evening with these four ladies and their shenanigans. I know I'm probably a little late in the game but I'm gonna give you all my take anyway :) Despite the fact that the critics seem to hate this film I must wholeheartedly disagree. I LOVED it. The fashion was 100x more spectacular than the first and that eye candy alone had my head spinning. While the first film was wrapped up in drama and heartache and the ultimate happy ending this one was pure unadulterated fun! Take it for what it is and I guarantee you will love it as much as I did. The theatre was surprisingly packed for a Wednesday night and that crowd was rowdy with a capital R. Lots of boisterous laughter and shouting at the screen and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Anyhoo I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I promise to be back next week with more regular posting AND some more Walking A Mile in My Shoes posts.

Yay? or Nay? Hump Day

Sam Edelman - York

It has been quite a while since I've had a yay or nay post. But these Sam Edelmans caught my eye while I was perusing shoes.com and I was immediately torn. The color is gorgeous. I love the bright lavender hue and the shape. I would be intrigued to see these on. I'm stuck on the embellished platform. It is the embellishments in particular that are bothering me. I think I would like them better if they were a uniform shape. So I'm going to leave it up to you guys. What do you think? Yay? or Nay?

Quantam Leap

Sam Edelman - Quantam

Yes, yes I know. Summer hasn't even started, yet the Sam Edelman Quantam has me dreaming of the days when the leaves begin to fall. It's the Queenie kicked up about 4o notches. I absolutely adore this slick suede bootie with its embellished heel and contrasting metal stiletto. I have one word. HOT!

Also, big apologies for not posting yesterday. Blogger was down for what seemed like forever.

Feeling Fabulous?

L.A.M.B. - Dakota

If the answer is no then all you need to do is slip on a pair of these stunners. Seriously, what's not to love? You've got multiple straps weaving their way to and fro, hard edged studded detailing, a contrasting bright red heel that just so happens to be a mere 4 and 3/4 inches high. Trust me. You put these on and no one will be able to stop staring and that, my lovelies, is a beautiful thing.

A Dream Is Realized

I apologize for the delay. I know I promised this to you all yesterday but Tuesday night I got knocked out with the most intense and horrible migraine. I was miserable. I didn't even watch Glee. I just laid in bed and wallowed in my own misery. However today, I am back with a story to tell.

Memorial Day weekend 2010 I spent a wonderful weekend in Chi-town with two dear friends from college. Saturday after spending an amazing two hours at the Matisse exhibit (which was absolutely stunning, by the way) we ventured down Michigan Avenue and ended up at Nordstrom. After perusing the racks of sale merchandise only to be sorely disappointed that everything that caught my eye was either a 1/2 size too small or a 1/2 size too big I glanced over to my right and spied THE table of all tables. "Hark, are those red soles, I spy?" Now I don't know about you all but we (in the STL) are apparently not worthy enough to have a Louboutin section in the shoe department at our local Nordies. Naturally I had to walk over to said table. Just to look. And pet. After a minute or two of heavy petting I thought, "What's the harm in trying on a pair or 3?" And I did. And it was glorious. And wouldn't you know it... a pair came home with me. I took the liberty of documenting the occasion for you all and for the sake of prosperity.

The shoe pile. I will say there is nothing like standing and looking behind you in the mirror and getting a peek of that red sole. Instantaneous shoe high.

The man who sold me my first pair of Louboutins. He was an absolute delight.

And for a closer look

I'll Give You a Hint

So the other day I told you all to stay tuned for an exciting post and I promise it's coming tomorrow with all the juicy details. My plane got delayed out of Chicago on Sunday and I had to spend eight exhausting hours at the airport. Needless to say once I bang this out, my head will be hitting the pillow. But just for fun I'll give ya a hint...
