You Can Call Me Flower If You Want To

Hee, hee, hee... I love Flower

Happy Friday my beautiful blog readers! I hope you have enjoyed "Sunshine Week" here on A Girl's Guide to Shoes. Now admittedly I will be choosing one of the three pumps I featured Monday, Wednesday or yesterday but when I saw these little beauties I just had to share them with you.

AK Anne Klein - Kalei2

d'Orsay has got to be one of my favorite shapes. Despite this statement I don't have very many shoes in this style. Perhaps I shall have to remedy that situation... Don't you just love them? Apparently a lot of other people do too. The link above will take you to endless where they only have size 8.5 or above. Click here if you decide you must have this pump and you fall below that shoe size. Such a gorgeous shoe, the delicate yellow hue, the lovely floral print in the prettiest of pastels, and the sweet flower detail that just pulls the whole thing together. The perfect way to prance into the weekend, wouldn't you say?

Bright + Cheery

Joan & David - Demille

Out of all the yellow shoes I've featured so far this spectacularly delicious hue is my favorite. How can you look at these and not smile? Seriously, no matter how dark my mood was as soon as I slipped these on I would be instantaneously cheerier. The suede looks so soft and lush and I can all but guarantee it is. The ruffled detail at the toe adds some nice visual interest to an otherwise basic (read classic) shape. Be honest. After seeing these. You're in a better mood, aren't you?

Sunshine Day

Ladies. I must apologize for my inadvertent absences lately. The posts have been sporadic and for that I feel terrible. Monday night I had a migraine that knocked. me. on. my. ass. So much so that I didn't go in to work on Tuesday. Despite the Aleve it just kept lingering. Haven't had a headache like that in ages and hope it's that long until I have one again.

Okay so enough of that. Let's move on to sunnier things. Like these.

Restricted - Wildcard

Brighten up your look, brighten up your day, heck brighten up your life with this sunny platform pump by Restricted. I must admit I am on the fence with the cork platform and heel. I don't love it but I don't hate it either. I do love the classic shape and cheery somewhat mustard yellow hue. And for just over $60 they are a fantastic price too!

Smoking Guns & Sunny Shoes

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I went to the shooting range with my husband for the first time and I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty fun. Once I got over the noise. It was really busy and there was someone in one of the lanes next to us shooting a 50 caliber and it was loud, even with the noise canceling head phones. I just about jumped out of my skin every time they shot a round. Ah, life in the mid-west. Gotta love it!

Anyhoo... as I've been browsing the interwebs looking for shoes I've been noticing lots of them in sunny hues. I'm loving this trend and am definitely going to be adding a pair to my collection.

Here is the first option I'm considering.

Naughty Monkey - Fiesta

The Fiesta brings you an open d'Orsay shape with petal like cut outs at the vamp. This pump gets an extra boost with the tiny stud detailing at the toe on on the heel and the 1 inch snake print platform. As per usual with Naughty Monkey these are also a fabulous price. Pretty sweet.

T.G.I.F.

Pour La Victoire - Bridgette

Bold cut outs promise to be all the rage this spring but why not incorporate a feminine twist in the form of the sweet floral cut outs on this heel by Pour La Victoire. I absolutely delight in the shape of this shoe. It's feminine yet fierce and that combination is pure perfection. I, for one, am ready for the weekend and my goal is to make the best of it. I hope you all have a safe and wonderful one. See you on Monday!

Lady Gray

Paris Hilton - Sashay

Well dear readers, what do we have here? Perhaps a delicate and feminine peep toe with studs dotting the platform to give it that perfect amount of edge boosting this pump from basic to fab. Let's not forget the pink sole. But seriously. You have to see them on.

MEEEE-OOOOWWWW!

Betsey Johnson - Astra

Holy hotness! The Betsey Johnson shoe line is killing me this season. Thanks a lot Celine ;) I mean I already have a leopard print peep toe pump that I love but I have to say... this sweet little lady is making me seriously consider adding a second pair to my shoe collection. Just for the record there are lots of justifiable differences. Honest. It's the shape that gets me here. The pleated gathered fabric at the toe + the twist at the vamp + an almost 4 inch heel. This is a shoe that will get you stopped on the streets. Man I love it when that happens.

Black + Gold

Pour La Victoire - Tula

This wedge is sort of anti-Valentine's Day wouldn't you say? I love it! Perfect for pairing with tights now and then with a flirty floral come spring. Such fun details, the side cut outs, the peep toe, and the gold studs along the sides and base of the heel. The back zip will make sliding in and out of these a breeze. This is a hot wedge and ladies you will look hot wearing them. You gotta love a shoe that does that.

Valentine's (Schmalentine's)

Ha, ha. Just kidding on the post title. To be honest I could really give two figs one way or the other about Valentine's Day. But lucky for you heels.com does give two figs in a good way cause they are having a 20% off promotion. Just use coupon code "WeHeartHeels" at checkout and you could be the proud owner of these...

Lakin Pump - Betsey Johnson

Yes I've featured these before but the seemed Valentinesy

Steel Deal Sandal - Luichiny

Same with these only I featured them before in pink.

Anyhoo... enjoy your weekend ladies ; )

Let's Get Nautical!

Nautical. It's a look that promises to be everywhere for Spring/Summer 2010. I am definitely planning on incorporating this look into my rotation in some way. I haven't quite decided how but the good news is I've got lots of options and so do you. I love the idea of incorporating nautical through shoes and here are a couple options that tickle my fancy.

It's the combination of colors + the platform + the sweet little bow + the red patent piping (okay pretty much the whole shoe) that evokes a pin-up vibe and I like it. Can't you just picture these paired with white shorts and a striped tee?

Nine West - Eastbound

Now the Eastbound has a similar feel but with the oh so fab addition of a t-strap and stripes. Plus don't you just love the contrasting platform and heel. So ladies, what say you? Are you planning on hitting up this trend this season? And if so will it be in shoes?

Johnston & Murphy (The Finale)

Well ladies. I hope you enjoyed the series featuring my top picks from the Johnston & Murphy spring line. Did you have a favorite amongst the bunch? If not, never fear there are plenty more where they came from. Just visit the site and browse around. You're sure to find something that will tickle your fancy.

Emily Platform Pump

Today we have a classic black pump with a twist. A sumptuous leather upper gets amped up with the addition of a genuine Italian tortoise patent platform and heel. This perfect pump will make the ultimate addition to any girl's wardrobe. You'll find yourself slipping into these countless times for that all important board meeting or a night out with the girls. Not bad, eh?

Johnston & Murphy (Day 4)

Kristen Wedge

On Friday I mentioned that the shoe I featured was my second favorite. Meet my top pick, Kristen. I am a girl who LOVES her some nudes. I certainly haven't made it a secret. Shockingly (at least to me) I have heard from a couple of you that say you're not a fan of the nude shoe. My mind = boggled. What's not to love? This little pretty is perfect as far as I'm concerned. A pinky nude patent upper melts it's way into a raffia wrapped wedge. These have made their way on to my must have list for the season. Will they be on yours?

Johnston & Murphy (Day 3)

Emily Mary Jane

A classic mary jane gets a twist in the form of pleated leather detailing on this gorgeous heel. The dark brown piping makes this shoe. This is my second favorite of the J&M shoes I'll be featuring. I've got two more to bring you next week, including my top pick. Judging from the platform and slightly stacked heel and the fact that these come equipped with a cushioned insole you'll not only look good but you'll feel good.

Johnston and Murphy (Day 2)

Cassidy Snake T-Strap

Don't you just love the slithery, sexy, slinky feel of this sandal? Speaking of slinky the Cassidy comes equipped with an all natural snake upper. How's that get your goat? Thin delicate straps across the vamp twist and turn their way into a t-strap that winds itself right around your ankle. Snake is such a great neutral and the Cassidy will pair beautifully with just about everything in your closet.

A Sneak Peek

First, thank you to those of you who left such kind words regarding the death of my Buddy. I really appreciate it. Now... on to some shoes...

Over the next several days I will be giving you, dear readers, a sneak peek at the Johnston & Murphy spring line. I received images of my favorites and I'm so excited to share them with you. The whole collection manages to hit key trends yet can also be classified as timeless and classic. So here you are, favorite numero uno.

Come on. Isn't the combo of black patent and tortoise mega delicious? I love the openness of this wedge. Gladiators promise to be huge once again this season but sometimes don't you want to bare more? Most especially in the summer? This sassy wedge will allow you to do just that. The Carmen retails for $198 which is priceless when you consider how often you'll be grabbing for this little beauty.

Be back tomorrow with more!

Bad Blogger! Bad!

I know I've been a rotten blogger lately but my dear beloved beagle had to be put to sleep on Friday and to be honest all I did was mope around the whole weekend and cry a lot. Not so much in the mood to look for shoes. But I'll be back tomorrow with a look at the latest from Johnston & Murphy.
