Over The (W)Edge

Ash - Lovely Suede Wedge

There is something about this wedge by Ash that is sending me over the edge. I'm not quite certain I can put my finger on it... Perhaps it's the muted slate gray(ish) hue, or the brass studs, or the bold cut outs and rocker chic vibe. This is a shoe that is completely out of my element but in a really good way. To be honest I'm not a big wedge person typically. As strange as this may seem I find it easier to teeter around in my stiletto heels than to balance precariously on a wedge. I blame my weak ankles and propensity for having them "go out on me" particularly when I'm wearing a wedge. Well... ankles be damned I say. These just may be ending up in my closet very soon.

Evil Genius

I love this woman. My closet currently boasts three of her dresses and I am slowly working my way up to number 4. Diane Von Furstenberg is truly an icon. This is a woman who knows women. Recently she has started a foray into shoes and the hubs was kind enough to forward me an email he received from Zappos spotlighting some of DVF's newest designs and these immediately caught my eye.

Diane Von Furstenberg - Alexandria

What's not to love? You've got cut outs, a peep toe, and gorgeous ultra luxurious suede (Seriously does that not just look like buttah?). Add to that the dark yet luminous inky hue and I am all but sold. Plus with DVF you know you'll get a quality product for the price. Simply perfect.

I promise I'm not usually this lame...

My head was pounding and I had a rough and emotional day yesterday. Just found out my sweet beagle "Buddy" has a huge tumor in his belly. Keeping our fingers crossed it's benign. I promise to be back on Thursday. I just need to chill for a minute.

Pink Panther (Er... Leopard)

Sorry for my inadvertent absence yesterday. I got caught up in reading a book only to be so sorely disappointed by the ending that I threw it across the room. Childish? Yes. Satisfying? Most definitely.

Lakin Pump - Betsey Johnson

Make your sweetheart (or a handsome stranger) purr when you step out in these colorful leopard print heels by Betsey Johnson. The fabulously fierce bright pink fabric upper will all but guarantee you stand out from the crowd. A muted pink patent leather heel balances out the full on wow factor of the pump quite nicely. See it for yourself below.

Also today Fergie shoes are featured on ideeli. Click here for your personal invite link and then score yourself one hell of a deal on these.

Grrrr!

I'm so cranky, tired, and icky feeling that not even THESE could cheer me up right now. Just thought I'd leave you with a pretty image to start your weekend. I'm a woman of few words today but, really, do I even need any? I'll let the knot speak for itself.

More Bows?

Surely you aren't tired of them by now. I mean, how could you be? And damn it I can't help it! I heart bows! I'm going to need to take inventory of my spring/summer shoes soon and decide what I need to stock up on. I think a new white sandal may be on that list and this just might be the one. Now what could be cuter than a bow bedecked ankle? This sweet little beauty has a simple style aesthetic that allows the bows to be the star. Plus the contrasting trim adds nice visual interest as well. The five inch heel will give you an instant boost of sex appeal too. Just check out the video below.

Mr. Bow - Jangles

Harajuku Lovers - Dalle

Weeee! Bows! Um. Yeah. So... I love these. I know. Shocker right? The shape is reminiscent of a bootie (which you all know I heart) and I, of course, simply adore the bow bedecked straps starting from the ankle and ending at the toes. The little studs at the center really make the bows stand out and the look is utterly delicious. Flirty yet funky the Dalle will liven up that spring shoe wardrobe in a flash.

S is For Sssssnake

Bayard - bebe

The folks over at heels.com just put up a selection of shoes from bebe and for the most part I wasn't thrilled with them. They were a little too stripper-esque in my humble opinion. To take a look see for yourself just click here.

The Bayard however is delightful. I love a good snake print, it works so well as a neutral. The ultra thick platform will balance out the 4 and 3/4 inch platform quite nicely. A peep toe sling back is always a wonderfully flirty and feminine option. This particular shoe will pair well with all of those skirts and dresses once the weather warms.

I'm In Love

Betsey Johnson - Lavant

Deep intake of breath. O.M.G. Are these delicious or what? The color combination is beyond words. A beautiful gray suede , a glorious pop of yellow, a touch of pretty pepto pink. These need to be in my closet. The choice of colors absolutely makes this shoe and takes what would otherwise seem ordinary and turns it into something extraordinary. Yowza!

Got Soul?

I was contacted by a representative from Soles4Souls yesterday and asked if I would be willing to blog about this campaign. What better way to start off 2010 then helping those in need. Please donate if you can. I've pasted info direct from their website below.

Click here to make a donation

Soles4Souls: Project Haiti Relief

Soles4Souls is mounting a massive response of emergency relief to the victims of Tuesday’s 7.0-magnitude earthquake near Haiti’s capital city of Port-au-Prince. 3 million people are directly affected by the damage. Untold thousands are likely dead, and tens of thousands are injured. Probably hundreds of thousands have lost their homes and most of their possessions.

Why shoes are critical

People are in immediate need of the most basic necessities, like food, water, AND SHOES. Soles4Souls is working with trusted partners to provide hundreds of thousands of new boots and shoes to help survivors locate others trapped in the rubble and begin the rebuilding process. As you can imagine, the amount of broken glass, twisted metal and raw sewage is staggering. We will rush this protective footwear to them as quickly as possible.

In fact, we are partnering with others to send a shipment of 30 container loads of emergency supplies, including:
New boots and shoes
Tents
Blankets
Duffle Bags
Food & Water

How you can help

Please help us meet this urgent need by giving now. Your donation will help survivors in Haiti work in the midst of the rubble to rebuild their lives.

Yay or Nay Thursday

I've been noticing this style for quite some time now as I'm sure you have and I have to say, I'm on the fence. They are, quite literally, everywhere. Nine West has a line and Steve Madden too. I've seen Meagan from ...love Maegan wear them (and look adorable) and some of the most stylish women in fashion have been seen sporting this look as well

Despite my reservations towards this particular trend I know that there are many of you out there digging it so I thought I'd feature a couple pairs that I like.

Boutique 9 - Ronnie

Personally when it comes this trend a little dash of femininity is key. The crackled shimmering metallic hue adds just the right dose here.

Moschino Cheap & Chic - Henry

Once again we have a sweet feminine touch. This time in the form of the thick ribbon lace up closure all tied up into a pretty bow.

So ladies what say you? Will you be sporting the oxford look? Yay or Nay?

Live Nudes!

First. Know this. I am not ready for spring yet. I love fall/winter clothes. I love pairing tights with dresses and skirts and I especially love them for their tummy hiding effect. But I'm tired of looking for fall/winter shoes to feature on the blog and while I'm not ready to give up my cozy sweaters and tights and despite the fact that I'm not really in the mood to feature spring shoes, you're gonna get em.

Last fall Stuart Weitzman had a shoe that I Had. To. Have. And by golly I got it. Thanks to the Nordstrom anniversary sale.

Well damn it if they haven't gone and done it again. Except this time its a pair from their spring line that is softly calling my name.

Stuart Weitzman - Saxony

Damn it! I love them! Woven details are going to be HOTT for spring 2010 and if you don't already know it by now I am a girl who loves her some nudes (shoes). I mean the leg lengthening alone is worth its weight in gold. The bootielicious shape, the platform... Not to mention that I'm fairly certain I can earn a couple more pairs from the hubs come May. Let the outfit planning commence.

Quittin Time? You Betcha!

Equal parts sweet and sexy this fab platform pump has all the right details. From the multi strapped vamp bedecked with a sweet little bow, to the d'Orsay styling (definitely a favorite of mine). But it doesn't stop there folks. Check out the side view below.

Don't you just love the addition of the snake embossed heel? You look good coming and going. Gotta love that!

Cha Cha Shoes

Um. Yeah. Sex on a stick is what I think of when I see this hot little number. From the recessed platform to the extra thick almost bondage like straps this is one sexy stiletto. The best part about this shoe is it comes in a wealth of colors including nude which I've pictured below.

I have three words ladies. Legs. For. Days. That's what the nude version of this shoe will do for you.

Check out the video of them on.

Practical? or Whimsical?

Alright I'm not sure if you remember yesterday when I mentioned that my husband owes me 2 pairs of shoes. I helped him out with some school stuff and of course my bargaining tool is always shoes. Now comes the time when I confess that I actually did end up buying the Slinger by N.Y.L.A. on Wednesday night - the Prada knock off I featured in yesterday's post. Which, of course, brings me down to 1. And I need your help to decide. First up is practical.

Steven by Steve Madden - Blend

Ah yes, now wouldn't this nude mini wedge be the ultimate in practicality? They would be so easy to throw on for a day of power shopping or even a day at the office. I love that these aren't technically a flat but as far as I'm concerned they are just flat enough. The color is perfectly nude and I could definitely see these as my go to shoe come spring. Plus after contemplating my shoe collection I could stand to incorporate more basics. Here is the video so you can see what these look like on.

Next up is whimsical.

Now I'll be honest and say that I wasn't sold on these based on the picture but then I clicked on the video link and was done in. This sweet yet sexy heel defines the word "whimsy". I love the artsy spring print and satiny look of that fabric upper but these are definitely the opposite of the word practical. Ultimately I wonder how much wear I would get out of them but then on the other hand when you did wear them what a statement you would make. See below for the video that "sold" me.

And that leaves us with my dilemma, which I need your help with. Help a girl out. For my final pair of husband owed shoes what should I do? Leave a comment or vote in the poll below.

N.Y.L.A. + Some Design Inspiration

AGGTS is a fan of designer "inspiration". I know that there are many of you out there who shudder at the thought but for those of us who can't afford the real thing at the present moment it is much appreciated. I'm never going to say "shame on you" but I certainly won't disparage those who do. To each his own I say and until the day I can afford the real thing I will continue to enjoy a designer look at a fraction of the price.

Louboutin Circus Ankle Boots

N.Y.L.A. Culver Bootie

I am definitely partial to the Loubie but if you are looking to stand out from the crowd this stylish cut out bootie will definitely do the trick. The Culver features a patent leather upper combined with mesh cut outs. A back zip will make for easy on and off and the 1/2 inch platform will offset that 4 1/2 inch heel just a wee bit.

Prada Studded Platform Slingback - good luck finding this one.

N.Y.L.A. - Slinger

Hmm... not much difference here, other than the heel. And the price. There's that too. Let's just say there is a strong possibility these will be gracing my doorstep. The hubs owes me 2 pairs of shoes and I think it's about time to collect.

Lime Tag Sale

I just love a good sale. My mom and I went shopping on New Year's Day. I mean what else was there to do? Took advantage of some of the super sales and managed to get the cutest pair of leopard print flats by Jessica Simpson for $20! I love this time of year but also find myself getting annoyed that the stores are talking Spring when I'm just getting into the heart of winter. Now is a great time to score some fabulous deals of your own and I thought I'd do a quick little round up of my top picks from the Lime Tag sale on Piperlime.

See anything you like? If you don't just click here to take yourself on over to the sale page. Happy shopping everyone!
