Another Shoe to Match My Mood

Still not feeling like my regular cheery self. We're going on day 5 of no sun. Yippee! However, I did find this little beauty and it perked me up a wee bit.

Elizabeth and James - Linda

In a word. Stunning. The stingray upper is key. It truly makes this shoe. According to one of my cyber friends and fellow bloggers, stingray will be a key trend in the upcoming seasons. I"m not sure if you're familiar with this particular material but it is incredibly resilient. I've spent lots of time inspecting it while my husband shops for cowboy boots. The addition of the metal heel is pure genius and the shape is fierce. Seriously. These are crazy hot!

Back In Black

Ho hum. I've been feeling rather blah over the past couple of days. It's a combination of things. From the craptastic weather we've been having lately (seriously have not seen the sun in two days) to a general discontentment with a variety of things. This blog has been my saving grace as of late and I just want to say thank you to all of you who continue to look at the pretty pictures read, and visit, and follow this thing that I love. I did not create this blog to vent but there is something so cathartic about laying it all out there to a bunch of strangers. I'm not sure I'm ready to do that just yet so instead I'll feature a shoe that matches my mood, at least in color anyway.

Turnpike Sandal - Fergie

Let this strapalicious beauty carry you from dinner to a night of dancing. A gorgeous suede upper with bold curved cutouts and a striking contrasting metal heel. So simple, yet the details are such that they make this shoe a stand out. Not to mention they are so gorgeous on. Take a little look see for yourself below.

Animal Blues

More? I'm so digging this combination of animal print and blue. Check out these little beauties.

Extravaganza Pump - N.Y.LA.

What's black, white, and blue all over? Live out loud in this hot platform pump. Zebra pinstripes meets an electric blue strap bedecked with a dazzling gold buckle. These are not for the feint of heart. This sassy little stiletto is sure to kick up even the most blah of ensembles. What better way to top off a classic mary jane than this? How could you not feel sexy?

Blue Leopard and A New Look

I was inspired by one of my favorite bloggers and fellow shoe fanatics The Shoe Girl to change things up on the ol' bloggity blog. I hope you like the new look. I've been thinking it was time for a change for a while now... Your comments/suggestions are welcome. Let me know what you think.

Privilege - Carlos Santana

Blue leopard sitings are becoming more and more frequent. I happen to personally have a blue leopard scarf that I picked up from either H&M or Forever 21 that I absolutely adore and now it seems you can find them in shoes. This delicious little pump by Carlos Santana makes me giddy. A classic shape in a just as classic print with a bold colored twist. J'adore.

Ox Blood

BCBGirls - Dante Pump

Despite the fact that I need a red peep toe pump (I already have two pairs) like I need a hole in the head I REALLY want these. Let's see...how can I justify this...? The other two pairs are patent leather and these are suede. This pair has a platform and I don't have a red peep toe platform pump. Only one of the pairs I own is wearable right now due to a broken strap. Also there is the tres fab silver and black crystal stud accents on these that make them much different the the others I already own. What do you think ladies? Did I miss anything? It may take some convincing but I think I can make it work.

Gray Platform Pumps for Under 100 Bucks (Day 3)

Reta Platform Pump - Merona

Such lovely little details here. From the patent leather combined with suede, the capped toe and heel with it's nod towards menswear, and of course the t-strap. You know this girl loves her a good t-strap. The 1/2 inch platform combined with the 3.75 inch heel will give you just the right amount of boost and at $32.99 these will barely make a dent in your pocketbook.

Gray Platform Pumps for Under 100 Bucks (Day 2)

Calvin Klein - Carley

Why not amp up the volume with this stellar platform pump by Calvin Klein. I love this anthracite color that can easily translate to gray. You've got the sheen of a metallic gleaming it's way into an ultra hip and modern shape. Another detail I've been seeing and loving in pumps lately is the upturned lip at the tip of the toe box. Obviously I'm using the technical term :) See Karla from Karla's Closet sporting a similar Aldo pump below.

The best part about this pump is that it reads classic but also has some fun key details that are sure to get you noticed. Tres chic, no?

Gray Platform Pumps for Under 100 Bucks

Over the next few days I'm going to be featuring my top picks for.... you guessed it! Gray platform pumps for under 1oo bucks. Fall always puts me in a gray state of mind and this fall in particular is getting me there quicker than usual. It has been unseasonably cold over the past week and rainy and gray and well... what better way to perk up than with a pump. Platform pumps are especially hot right now but this particular shoe style is a classic. Here is option #1.

Jessica Simpson - Michaela

This sweet and stylish pump by Jessica Simpson brings more of those curvy lines that I love. I'm really digging the croco embossed leather too. The 3/4 inch platform will certainly help you maneuver your way through those city streets but you also have the added bonus of a padded toe box. Don't you love it when you can maneuver in comfort and style?

Flirty and Fabulous Friday

Elani - Badgley Mischka

Simply beautiful. This pretty sandal is pure perfection. Delicate straps adorn the foot topped by a stunning mesh gold and silver flower. Let your feet do the talking. Throw on your LBD, slip on these bad boys, grab your clutch and head out the door. You'll need nothing else.

Platform A Go-Go

Hurrah! Heels.com has uploaded loads of gorgeous shoes to their site and you can bet your sweet little ass I'll be featuring my faves. First up...

Guess Shoes - Birclay

Yummy yum. Ugh. I really love this. That super thick platform (1 and 1/4 inches to be exact) will certainly ease the blow of the 4.5 inch stiletto heel. I adore the delicate criss cross ankle straps and the patent leather piping along the edge. Sassy. Flirty. Hot. That's how you'll feel when you're strutting your stuff. This gorgeous pump is slightly reminiscent of this one... don't ya think?

Currently Saving My Money For...

Louboutin Platform Pump

Simple. Classic. Perfect. I need a new black pump and I'm tired of purchasing something I have to replace every few years, so this year, I'm going to invest in this. It may take a couple of months but I know it will be worth it. It's an investment. This is a gorgeous pump that will work with anything and everything. A classic with the added boost of a hidden platform which will make walking in these a breeze. So what are you currently saving your money for?

Debbie Downer

I promise this won't be a "Debbie Downer" of a post. You'll get it, in a minute.

Debbie - Jessica Simpson

Ah-dorable, no? I must say I am loving this pump shape lately. The curvy lines just make me giddy. I can't help it. Curvy = feminine and frankly I'm a true girl at heart. We have a slightly stacked heel and with the addition of the platform this pump just may prove comfy too. Then add in the round toe and silver studs dotting the edge and this girl is smitten. Plus I am so digging the leopard insole, a fun and flirty detail that gets to be your little secret.

My Apologies

for the lack of post today. My internet was down all night last night. I promise to be back tomorrow though!

Thursday, October 8, 2009

You HAVE to check this out!

A quick shout out to the ideeli blog for posting this. I just had to share it with all of my wonderful readers!

Oh and be sure to leave a comment on today's boot mission post. Which of the three is your fave?

Black Flat Boots - A Mission (Day 3)

Kenneth Cole Reaction - Bon Bard

The more I see this little beauty the more I like it. I've been looking at this boot for the past three days now and it's creeping up there. Again we have a very simplistic style combined with buttery soft leather. Pump up the volume and your style with this fab boot by Kenneth Cole. The small stud details dotting the seam edge this bad boy up a bit and the slightly cushioned insole will make them comfy to "boot".

Flat Black Boots - A Mission (Day 2)

Ciao Bella - Toni

Option #2. I really like these and the price, oh my goodness, the price! I feel like jumping up and down for joy. I decided to check out DSW on a whim and was super excited when I came across these. Another simple style this time in the form of a fresh and classic riding boot. This is a look that is timeless. The Toni features a sumptuous leather upper with a back zip for easy on and off and a mere 1 inch heel. Giddy up!

Flat Black Boots - A Mission

Last year for Christmas I received my first pair of flat-ish (they do have about a 1 inch heel) boots and well... despite my ingrained love of high heels... I. Love. Them. I wore them this past Saturday and managed to walk 1.5 miles from the hotel to a bar with nary a complaint. It was then and there that I decided I needed to add a black pair to my shoe collection. As per usual I am having a hard time deciding on the perfect pair and that, my dear readers, is where you come in. My fear is that with a black flat boot it's easier to look more swashbuckler than chic & stylish (if you know what I mean).

So... Help!

Option # 1 is sleek and simple and that is just why I like it. I love the seaming down the center and across the top, it adds just the right amount of detail to give them just the tiniest bit of oomph. I think this chic little beauty will transition well from year to year as it manages to be both classic and on-trend.

A Little More to Love

So ladies, have you had the chance to check out musthaveshoes.com yet? I was just browsing around and spied a couple more pairs that tickled my fancy. Check em out below.

Miss Betty - Poetic Licence

Once again I'm loving the vintage feel in a pair of shoes by Poetic Licence. A shimmering patent like material is woven throughout soft suede adding a fun, fresh feel to this t-strap. Speaking of t-straps, how much do you love the floral accents along the strap? Delightful, eh?

Memory Lane - Poetic Licence

This fun little bootie will surely add a bit of oomph to your shoe collection. Vastly feminine with the addition of the plaid fabric upper and sweet satin bow accent these are utterly adorable. Pair them with your LBD or a tunic sweater and leggings. Sweet.

Now a few things on my wish list for the musthaveshoes site. I wish there were more details in the descriptions, especially on the physical attributes. Heel height, and other measurements would be a nice addition. These details are listed on some shoes but not on others and some consistency in this would be ideal. Additional measurements are especially helpful when shopping for boots. Shaft height and circumference are key when one is boot shopping from a website. Other than that I think this site is great. If you want to bypass the home page and just look at all the shoes on the site, simply type "all shoes" in the search box and you can start shopping.

Next time you are on musthaveshoes.com check it and tell me what you think. Happy shopping everyone!

Flirty and Fabulous Friday

Well I managed to get the entire day off of work today so the hubs and I can kick off our romantic weekend a little sooner than later. And what better way to kick of a romantic getaway than with a little "Flirty and Fabulous Friday". I received my daily email from Who What Wear Daily yesterday morning touting leopard accessories are all the rage. Now unless you've been living on Mars this will certainly not be news to you. I've been loving leopard for years and really consider it more of a classic or wardrobe staple, anything but a "trend". Alright I'll stop yammering and show you some shoes, since I know that's all you really come here for anyway :)

Lizza Pump - Jessica Simpson

This pump is practically perfect in every way. The shape is spot on and I love the mini peep toe. Plus there is something about a fabric upper in a leopard print that I just love. I had a pair of leopard peep toes that were pony hair and they hair rubbed off. I have since replaced them with a fabric version which so happened to be the subject of my very first blog post. Click here if you're curious. I tried this shoe on in black at Dillards recently and it is really cute on. But
( since I'm a crazy video embedding fool) if you don't believe me take a look see for yourself.

Poor Man's Pigalle

If you are a lover of all things shoes like I am you have certainly seen these by now. Seriously, why does that Louboutin have to be such a friggin GENIUS. It's pure torture, I tell you.

Now while these aren't an exact replica, obviously, they do show hints of the Pigalle, especially in the shape. And I do sort of love the capped studded detailing as opposed to the all over studs on the Loubies. Now add in the contrasting heel which has the sheen of a metallic and this is a spectacularly sassy pump. Let's have a little look see at what these bad boys look like on, shall we?

Man I really love that video feature on heels.com. A seriously ingenious move.
