Oh Versace of the Yellow Soles

Versace's spring collection featured models sporting shoes in a wonderfully neutral palette with a sunshine bright yellow sole creating the perfect balance between function and fashion. Luxurious details adorned heels and then some. Beautiful, simple, gorgeous. I can't wait to see what's in store(s) this spring. How will it translate? I'm hoping they don't change a thing. I cetainly hope the yellow soles stick around, I'm so loving those. I think every sole should have a color. What color is yours?

Spring Platforms

I know, I know what you're thinking... Spring???? Spring???? But I can't help myself. I was looking through the collection details on Style.com and platforms and wedges were on just about every runway in Milan. Here are a few pair from Dolce & Gabbana that caught my eye. They are a sort of combination of platform and wedge wouldn't you say? I can't wait to see how these will be re-invented for their "everyday" collection. Seriously gorgeous, no?

I love the combination of shiny gold and smooth black satin. The thin leather strap from heel to vamp is so, so sexy. Yum!

There would be some serious fisticuffs in Oz if the Wicked Witch was wearing these when Dorothy dropped in. Maneuvering the yellow brick road may have been a little trickier though.

A gray croco embossed leather platform with details to die for.

These shoes have major sex appeal. Do you have your come hither look ready?

Ugh! I want. I am so digging the silver and gold leaf details on these.

Rock and Republic

Rock and Republic - a brand name that is typically synonymous with premium denim is doing shoes. And ladies they are doing my favorite little accessory proud. I've been semi-obsessed with revolveclothing.com and discovered the R&R shoe collection there. I started this post a couple days ago but it's been sitting in my drafts folder until now. I haven't been feeling well so I've been creating simpler posts in order to get some much needed rest. Then today I discovered that the ladies over at The Shoe Goddess beat me to the punch. Great minds think alike is what I always say and not surprising since they've got fabulous taste over there! You can check out their post here and make sure you check out my top picks below.

Kristy Pump

A classic brown pump that will pair perfectly with all of your fall neutrals mixed with a little va va voom on the heel. I love, love, love the corset detail and contrasting suede. Sweet, sexy, and ideal for the office or a night out on the town.

Josselyn Boot

Now this, this is how you do studs. So gorgeous with just the right amount of hardware. And the leather... just look at that leather people. Despite the studs I think this boot could work quite well as a classic in any girls wardrobe. The shape is perfect and the heel is just the right height.

Gracie Platform Sandal

This is a beautiful neutral dress sandal. The platform will help you dance the night away in comfort and style and that contrasting leather is stingray which has a fabulous natural shimmer and sheen.

Elise Pump

Seriously???? How amazing is that heel?
This is the ultimate black pump with one hot little detail. Simple yet gorgeous. I love these.

Ribbons and Bows

Aren't these pumps just delicious? What could be more girly and feminine than having your ankles tied up in bows? I think these would be so perfect paired with something structured or menswear inspired. Look closer and check out the woven ribbon detail at the toe and ankle. The details on these are absolutely spot on. I'm at 4 and counting ladies. Ack! Decisions, descisions...

Lust-Worthy Wednesday

This week's lust-worthy Wednesday is brought to you by Christian Louboutin. It's torture. Pure torture, I tell you. The positive side is that these Loubies are on the lower end of the Louboutin cost scale. Unfortunately they are still out of my price range but perhaps they are within yours. These are perfect in their simplicity and their shape and yet the pleated details of the leather make them sleek, modern, and utterly of the moment. If I could, I would purchase these in both colors and that's saying a lot. I've never purchased the same shoe in multiple colors but man I would convert for these.

Shoe Trying Spree (Part Deux)

My mom and I decided to go on a little impromptu trip to the mall on Sunday. I went specifically to hit the Jacque Penay (That's J.C. Penney to all of my fellow discount store shoppers out there). I saw a menswear vest in the ad that I wanted to try and possibly buy. Apparently I wasn't the only one as they were completely sold out. Boo! Decided to hit up Dillards with the intent of showing my mom the elastic strap mary janes I am now coveting. Alas this Dillards didn't carry them but that didn't stop me from trying on some other shoes. I mean, while I was there...

I first blogged about this shoe back in August when I featured cage heels. As soon as I saw them on display I had to try them on. I'm so glad I did. They are amazingly comfortable. The platform combined with the ankle strap really lends to solid footing. I loved them.

Jessica Simpson Daila

Thought I'd try these Jessica Simpson heels on as a whim. The color is absolutely gorgeous and that heel... 4.5 inches and smoking hot. I loved these too. Crap! Now I'm coveting 3 pairs of shoes.

Steve Madden Impereal

The ruffled t-strap is perfectly adorable. The heel is not too high and not too low. Very cute on. But I'm holding out for those mary janes. I don't need two new pairs of black patent leather shoes. Now that would just be excessive.

Oh and apparently I am only capable of trying on shoes in threes. Did anyone else notice that?

Shoe Trying Spree

Saturday and Sunday I spent some time trying on various styles of shoes. Each time I left empty handed. Some I was curious with and others I am infatuated with and yet others I became infatuated with after trying them on. I wish I had my camera with me so I could have taken pictures. I really need to start carrying that thing with me everywhere I go. See below for Saturday's shoes. Leave me a comment and let me know which ones you love.

Store 1 - Dillards

I loved the way these looked on display but not on me. I felt like they made my ankles look wide and they didn't have any oomph!
Vince Camuto "Carlos" (Pictured left.)

These were definitely prettier on than the "Carlos"
I tried them on for two reasons. 1. My fascination/obsession with elastic straps continues.
2. I was curious about the fit and style.
Vince Camuto "Alfie"

Oh yes, there it is again. Another elastic strap and these... these were pure perfection. So sexy and just right. I can picture these with a wealth of fall outfits
GB "Nite-Life"

Store 2 - Nine West

Curiosity was the motivator here. I neither love nor hate these and surprisingly I didn't hate them on. I will definitely not be purchasing them but I just thought "What the hell, try them on, what have you got to lose?"
Lahdidah

I've been mooning over these for a while. They were on sale. Eh... not crazy about them on. The GB "Nite-life" are much, much cuter. I need those. Gidsa

Oh BTW they were playing Christmas music at Nine West.Christmas music for pete's sake!!!!!!! Redonkulous!

So...anyway this was my favorite of the three but I already have a pair of purple shoes and couldn't justify falling in love with another pair. If you don't have a pair of purple shoes and you love these they are the Goto.

Be sure to come back on Tuesday to see the Sunday shoes.

Shoes with Attitude

I very recently discovered footwear designer Ruthie Davis while trolling though all of the beautiful shoes at revolveclothing.com. Now this is a woman who loves her some shoes. At the tender age of 2 Ruthie tried on her first pair of red patent leather mary janes and she has been hooked ever since. You'll find Ruthie's shoes on many a celebrity foot, from Beyonce, to Alicia Keys, and Hilary Duff just to name a few. Her design aesthetic has a very architectural feel but she manages to blend it very well with classic shapes and spot on details. Ruthie's shoes are fierce, fun, and have some serious attitude. Just check out these little beauties below and see for yourself.

Button Mary Jane Pump

Ummm... hello there. No, don't worry, I don't mind if you stare. Yes, they are fabulous, aren't they?(This is the inner monologue I would be having in my head if I owned these little gems) One part demure mary jane, one part sexy vixen with a little dominatrix thrown in. Perfection.

Flower Kittie Pump

I sort of love these. In my opinion, the gold chain flower detail is just a touch shy from being over the top and THAT is why I love them.

Nut Runway Mary Jane Pump

I love the contrast of berry and brown here. So very chic and so very now. Then do an about face and you have three silver studs dotting the heel. I love it when a shoe looks good coming and going, don't you?

Neutra Classic Patent Pump

A perfect nude in a classic shape. Every girl should own one.

Koolhaus Mary Jane Pump

My shoes can beat up your shoes! I love the platform and, of course, the dual straps teamed with spiked silver studs. Is it just me or do these scream with a "Don't mess with me!" vibe?

Wanna see some more? Be sure to check out the Davis by Ruthie Davis website here. Go on! Do it! I double dog dare you.

Lust-Worthy Wednesday

Whew! It's been a long while since I've featured a shoe for Lust-Worthy Wednesday. This week's post is brought to you by Chloe. Oh the raised leaf detailing here is so fierce. This is a seriously, utterly, phenomenally, gorgeous pair of shoes. Suede and leather pointed toe boots in a delicious shade of gray. Perfectly shaped leaves cascading gently down from ankle to vamp. Wear these with ANYTHING and you'll look like a million bucks.

That's Why I Bluefly

Bluefly.com is a great place to go to pick up classic pieces at great prices. Every girl needs a versatile black pump in her wardrobe and I've found some delicious picks that are ripe for the choosing. Each pump is less than $200 on Bluefly. A fantastic price for a wardrobe staple that will last you many years. Designer goods and discount prices, I believe those are my two favorite phrases. Especially when they go hand in hand.
